Scheme Development (£700)

Scheme Development (£700)

We rely on the funding provided by corporate and individual donors to run the scheme on a day to day basis. Without the kind donations we have received thus far we would not currently be operational.

We are completely financially independent from the ambulance service and rely entirely on fundraising and donations to maintain our costs to respond, including the upkeep of our two response cars. We receive support from the University of Nottingham and its Students’ Union, as well as the wider community, which has a huge impact on the lives that we, as a scheme, are able to save.

Healthcare and the NHS have never been so imperative to society as they currently are with the Covid-19 pandemic. We provide an essential service on behalf of EMAS, enabling patients in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire to receive an ambulance response sooner and get the life-saving emergency care they need quicker than without us. As full-time students studying intense healthcare degrees, we want to continue volunteering our limited free time where it is needed the most, with patients responding to 999 calls.

However, our scheme is not free to run, and we cannot operate without fundraising to cover the cost of our emergency response vehicles, which pulls us away from the front line of attending to the most vulnerable in our community. If we were to receive sponsorship covering our response cars’ costs, we would be able to invest all our time volunteering to provide emergency care rather than channeling our efforts towards fundraising to keep the scheme operating.

We would like to invite you to donate, either one off or regularly, or to sponsor our scheme. Please get in touch for sponsorship or use our JustGiving page below to donate. Thank you for your support.
